It will not be wrong to say that startups have been the genesis of digital transformation in the country, making inroads for further cloud proliferation and innovation. This also allows startups to come up with innovative solutions for mixed demographics. India is a complex geography, with myriad layers of diverse ecosystems. State-of-the-art incubator support system comprising of incubators and accelerators to VCs and large scale investors, are helping startup scale in a competitive environment. Government has also facilitated incubation support in different parts of the country, to generate startup hubs in different parts of the country. Schemes like SAMRIDH, Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana (PMMY), Multiplier Grant Scheme (MSG), and initiatives such as Sub-Mission on Agricultural Mechanization (SMAM), NexGen Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centre, Single-Point Registration Scheme, The Venture Capital Assistance Scheme (VCA), amongst many others have been instrumental in getting the startup ecosystem establish and flourish in the country. To support the start-up ecosystem and entrepreneurs, the government has been launching various programmes and initiatives for training, and providing financial assistance, technical support, subsidies, and other essential services.

The uptick in the number of start-ups in the last couple of years would not have been possible without the right impetus given by the Indian government to establish India as a start-up leader.
